This was a very challenging and very fun set. I wonder is this is an issue of Saturn Beetle, I'll try mapping the keybind to X too.
Seems to have become less annoying, it still happened, but not as much as before. The pausing, I'm pretty sure that's a button combination, cuz I changed the Dpad Up (Accelerate) to X (on a xbox controller) to have it be more look a like to car racing games, and the random pausing They worked for me on Saturn Bettle on Retroarch.

Strange, the achievements are working for me on Saturn Beetle, make sure to update you Cores and Databases. Yeah I still can't get the achievements to activate on retroarch so I don't even know I'm trying to play on Saturn Bettle but the game keeps pausing randomly every time during a race. Beetle Saturn says that it cannot activate achievements using this core?
